Important Jewish Resource Translated into Russian
08.11.2016, Community Life Lechaim Jewish publishing house released the translation of the sixth and final volume of Ein Yaakov last week, making it the first time the entire work was translated and published in Russia. Ein Yaakov is a compilation of all Aggadic material in the Talmud and is an invaluable treasury of Jewish historic and cultural information, as well as, of course, an important resource in religious studies.
“Throughout the generations, Jews have gathered together to learn Ein Yaakov and now, with a Russian translation available, Russian-speaking Jews will also be able to share in the book’s knowledge,” the publishing house statement said.
The translation was overseen by Lechaim editor-in-chief Boruch Gorin, and was initiated by Chief Rabbi of Russia, Berl Lazar, with the generous help of the Rohr family. The publishing house is one of the major contributors to Jewish books releases in Russian, with hundreds of books read and enjoyed by Jews throughout the entire FSU.
