After 75 years: Brest inaugurates Torah

                  30.05.2014, Community Life

The Jewish community of Brest – more commonly known as Brisk – in Belarus, celebrated the historic inauguration of a new Torah scroll seventy-five years after the last scroll was inaugurated. The scroll was donated by the Mizrach, Leslboim and Prin families from Israel in memory of their father OBM.
The event, which opened in the Grand Synagogue famous for its great scholars, such as Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik, was attended by hundreds of community members, distinguished guests, rabbis and government officials.
