The Israeli Minister of religion arrived in Moscow for a short visit, in order to attend the opening of the new “Bar Mitzvah children write and learn Tanah (Bible)” project and witness the remarkable development of the Jewish community.
The Minister, Mr. Yaakov Mergi, attended a series of events throughout the day. He was honored by lighting the second Chanukah candle at several communal parties and lectured in front of over 1000 children and dignitaries as the guest of honor at the festive opening of the new “Bar Mitzvah children write and learn Tanah (Bible)” project that took place at the new Jewish Museum in Moscow.
In his warm words, the Minister said: “When in freezing temperatures of -10 degrees, I see the great Jewish revolution created by the Chief Rabbi and the FJC’s activists, the words ‘Miracles in those days and at this time’ get a new and stronger meaning.”
