On the day commemorating the release of Mariupel, Ukraine from the Nazi conqueror and the rescue of the last of its Jews – a new Torah scroll was introduced into the community’s Synagogue and JCC. Hundreds attended the festive parade.
Jews from the entire region celebrated together with the local community at the event that was covered by national and local press, and took place in the center of the city.
The new Torah scroll was donated by Rabbi Menachem and Yael Levi to the Jewish community headed by Rabbi Menachem & Esther Cohen.
