The Jewish community of Krivoy Rog has facilitated a humanitarian aid campaign sponsored by the Fellowship Foundation. The campaign enables local families to “purchase” children's clothing from the Sela clothing store chain with certificates issued by the Jewish community.
For several years the Fellowship Foundation has been sponsoring various humanitarian aid projects for the Jewish community of Krivoy Rog, a member of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine. For this most recent campaign, 320 certificates have been distributed to underprivileged children ages 2-16 years. Children received 3-4 certificates each worth 200 hryvnia (about $25 each).
Sela is a well-known Russian-Israeli company, founded in 1991. The store offers a stylish and well-made collection of clothing for the entire family as well as footwear and accessories. While Sela’s main office is in Israel, its stores can be found in 4 countries, including kraine, Russia, and many other countries of the CIS as well as China.
After the initiation of the campaign, the Fellowship Foundation decided to issue another 200 certificates. Thanks to this increase, the Krivoy Rog Jewish community will be able to help additional local Jewish families, those that are not involved in Jewish communal life as well as those who are already actively involved.
The Fellowship Foundation, also known as the International Foundation of Christians and Jews, is headed by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein.
