Fellowship Foundation Aids Krivoy Rog
11.05.2010, Community Life The funds allocated by the Ukrainian government to help impoverished children are so minimal that they do not even cover the most basic needs. Thus, it has become a priority of the Fellowship Foundation (also known as the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews) to assist these vulnerable children.
Thanks to the Fellowship Foundation, headed by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, the Ohr Avner Krivoy Rog Foundation regularly coordinates humanitarian aid campaigns for needy children. Today, 62 children ages 1½ to 16 years, received food packages. Each parcel contained flour, sunflower oil, sugar, mayonnaise, rice, buckwheat, chicken, tea, oatmeal cookies and bagels.
Tatiana Kutz, the director of the Ohr Avner Krivoy Rog Foundation, let the children and their families know about the approaching holiday of Lag B'Omer as well as inviting everyone to participate in the parade.
At the Lag B’Omer celebration, tzedaka (charity) was collected to help needy individuals in the Jewish community. A lonely Jewish man who had recently suffered a stroke was the recipient of the tzedaka that was collected that day. Good deeds inspiring good deeds!
